An exquisite Elite Hanoverian Warmblood Stallion
Derringer's offspring
seem to maintain a consistently high standard and this is proven year
after year by the foals from mares bred to him. The two year old pictured
at the bottom of the page is just one example of the beauty, elegance,
refinement and athleticism we have come to expect from his offspring.
Please be patient when clicking on the links to see
a larger image as the pictures are nice and of good quality and may
take a little while to load.
On March 8, 2000 Riviera gave birth to De-Lyah,
a Derringer daughter. Since a picture says more than a thousand words,
please see the picture of De-Lyah at left.
We try to stay in contact with the people who have chosen
Derringer as a sire and we hear many stories from proud owners of
the new D-line foals he has been producing. Being quite proud of these
youngsters ourselves, we would like to share this information with
you.
Dirigo, a six month old foal, owned by Ms Susanne Hamilton,
has a beautiful neck and head. According to Susanne, he is a doll
and puts a smile on her face every time she looks at him. "He's
got the best personality ever", Susanne says. Susanne, we can
only agree with you. It sounds like he got all these good qualities
from his father, Derringer.

We were recently contacted by Susan Hamilton of Mantville,
Maine who bred her Pre-Studbook thoroughbred mare to Derringer. Susan
was excited and anxious to tell us about the filly that was a result
of this cross. She said, "this filly already looks like a grand
prix level horse. She is absolutely beautiful and I love her to death."
Susan is herself German and for the last three years has been a working
student of the well known dressage trainer Michael Poulin. Congratulations
to Susan and we look forward to receiving the photos of your Derringer
filly.
While looking through the September 5, 1997 issue of
the "CHRONICLE OF THE HORSE", I came upon an article entitled,
"NORTHWEST HANOVERIAN INSPECTION". The article starts off
like this, "Five Hanoverian mares were presented for entry into
the studbooks during the 10th American Hanoverian Society inspection
at Heritage Farm in Spanaway, Washington, August 4th. Divina, (Derringer-Magissa,Mahogoni)
was the champion mare." The article then goes on to quote the
owner of the horse who says, "
she hopes to compete Divina
in dressage. She has a wonderful disposition, and is forward, energetic
and athletic.
The inspection was Divina's show debut, but the
experience didn't faze her
She was wonderful to work with. [Handler
Ali Buchanan] loved her and talked about what a kind beautiful eye
she had. She had a sound mind about everything,". We offer congratulations
to this owner on the success of her hanoverian mare Divina sired by
Derringer.

Not long ago we were contacted by Jacalyn Senger of
Heatherfield Farm in Maryland. Jackie has bred more than one mare
to Derringer but she wanted to tell us about one of this years foals.
The foal's name is Dame Dominique and she is out of a mare named Biscayne.
She was presented during the 1997 inspection tour on July 24th at
Alder Branch Farm in Centerville, MD. and apparently the judges "really
liked her". Jackie told us the judges comments about Dame Doninique
were that, "you can't fault her". It is our understanding
that she was registered and branded at the site.

We received another message from Diane Cooke of Knightsen,
CA. She said "I am so happy to see Derringer back in public
again. He is a truly magnificent stallion. I have a '95 gelding by
Derringer that is a "keeper". He is out of a main mare book
Thoroughbred. He has his daddy's face and topline. I would love to
breed this mare back to Derringer, but alas, finances prevent it at
this time. Hopefully, in the future I'll be able to rebreed to your
stallion. Keep up the good work."

To see more photos of Derringer's offspring we encourage
you to visit the Vista
Ridge Farms web site where they have bred mares to Derringer over
several years. Some of these young horses are currently for sale!
Derringer is a proven
Hanoverian Warmblood stallion. The bloodlines he carries
are an important asset to the hanoverian gene pool and a living historical
representation of some of the most famous foundation lines of the
Hanoverian Warmblood horse.
On March 30, 1998 one of Ashanti Farm's mares, Azure,
a beautiful thoroughbred we purchased in Florida, gave birth to a
filly sired by Derringer. We've named this filly
Donatella and she is another fine example of the quality
of Derringer's foals. Donatella is a very leggy bay with three
white socks and a star, strip and snip forming an interesting pattern
on her face. She is beautiful, elegant and athletic and we are certain
that she will mature to be a fantastic horse.
Please check back to our site. We plan to post more
photos of Derringer's offspring. The latest information is available
on the newborn fillies and foals
page.
