Ashanti Farm is proud to congratulate Bruno Greber and Amidala on a very successful weekend at the Region I GAIG Finals/VADA Fall Show this past weekend at the Virginia Horse Center. Bruno took Amidala in the Grand Prix on Friday and Saturday, and won first place both days. On Saturday, the pair scored a 66%. Bruno has trained Amidala since she was only 3.5 years old, and we are very proud of all they have accomplished.
We would also like to congratulate two of Bruno’s students, Michelle Burch and Gardy Bloemers. On Friday, Gardy and Donizetti S scored a 65% and earned 4th place in the Intermediate I Freestyle. Michelle and Festina scored a 63% in the Intermediate I on Saturday.
On October 9th we said ‘Good Bye’ to our Stallion Derringer. He was the first American-born approved D-Line Hanoverian stallion, the 1989 winner of the North American 100 Day Stallion performance testing, a gentle soul and the most wonderful companion. Derringer was THE reason why Ashanti Farm was created and HE will always be remembered by us and HE will remain the symbol of Ashanti’s success. Good bye, DIDI, WE LOVE YOU.
Congratulations to the team from Ashanti Farm on a successful competition at Rose Mount this past weekend. Gardy Bloemers and Donizetti placed 3rd in the Intermediate I both days, earning a 63% on Sunday. Michelle Burch rode Festina to a 63% and 2nd place in their first Intermediate I. A special congratulations goes to Barbara Greber, who rode Lindau in Fourth Level Test I and earned the final score for her USDF Silver Medal!
On Saturday, Bruno Greber and Amidala won the Intermediate II with a score of 70%. This ride was the FEI High Score of the weekend. Amidala competed in her first Grand Prix on Sunday.
Michelle Burch, a student of Bruno’s, and her mare Festina scored a 62% in the Prix St. George’s, earning the final score for Michelle’s USDF Silver Medal.
Barbara Greber and Lindau competed in Fourth Level Test 1. On Sunday they scored 60% and placed 3rd in the class.
Congratulations to everyone on a great show!!!
On Wednesday, July 20, 2011, Carreras suffered a fatal colic and had to be euthanised. This came so quickly and surprising, as Carreras was in great shape for his age, he turned 20 this year in February. We got Carreras as a 5 year old. He spent 7 years with Arthur Kottas in Austria, who trained him to Grand Prix. Caroline and Carreras both started their careers under Arthur’s training and guidance. They competed successfully in Europe and participated in the European Junior Championships in France and Lippiza and won numerous GP’s. In 2003 Carreras came, together with Bruno Greber, Ashanti Farm’s certified Trainer, to Ashanti Farm. Carreras and Bruno competed in CDI’s in the States.
In 2009, Carreras survived a serious colic surgery, recovered incredibly well and enjoyed his lessons at Ashanti Farm, whereas he taught Gabriele and Barbara the highest level of riding a correct Grand Prix test.
In his stall, he would throw hay up in the air on his head and fall asleep, with his head covered with hay. He was one of the most gentle stallions, we know, his lovely eyes always looking happy. At feeding time, he would call ‘me first, I am the boss in this stable’, to remind the grooms of that.
Thank you, Carreras, for all the joy you brought to us and we, hopefully, brought to you. You will always remain in our hearts!
After serving the Dressage community in the States of NY, WA, FL and VA for over 20 Years, Ashanti Farm closed its doors for the public the End of April of 2014. It has become quiet at the Farm. We enjoy the tranquility and peace for a change.
The Show Barn has been shut down, is still being cleaned and repairs are made were necessary.
Gabriele enjoys her lessons with Gerd Reuter on her Stallion Bandelero twice a week. A nice and welcome change indeed.
